Yard & Assembly Operative

We are looking for a physically capable and experienced individual to join our joinery, assembly and labourers team. You will be down back, machining and cutting timber for joinery, or customer request. And lifting heavy items.

DUTIES 

• Cutting and machining timber.
• Assembling Joinery such as windows and garage doors.
• Lifting various heavy items such as sheets, heavy timber and joinery.
• Completing timber cutting orders for customers upon request.
• Using various CNC machines to machine timber to size.
• Restocking timber racks and sheet racks.
• Assist other members of staff if and when this is required.  

This list represents the main day-to-day tasks you will be required to do.

REQUIREMENTS

As this is a physically demanding role, and one of responsibility within the company, we are looking for people with the following qualities:

• Proven experience in joinery and woodworking.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Focused and conscientious.
• Work with a high level of accuracy.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to meet production deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality workmanship.

Proven experience in joinery and woodworking in a similar environment would be desirable, but by no means essential for the right person. 

WORKING TIMES

The working times for this position are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. These hours are guaranteed and do not change. Once up to speed, you will also be required to go on a rota for Saturday 8am to 1pm. 

WAGE RATES

The pay rate will be £14 an hour.
